Kids 'I can cook' competition.

A young people's cooking competition organised by Clifton BID and Clifton Rotary Club will be held at Clifton High School.

Alive Activities, is a Bristol-based charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and well being of older people, particularly those living with dementia and their carers.

Isobel Jones, CEO of Alive will tell us about her time in charge of the organisation.

 In her website she states that to say that this has been a challenging year for us all would probably be an understatement!  At Alive, before the pandemic hit, we were beginning to change the way we were offering our services, and COVID-19 has forced us to accelerate this period of change.   My 9 months of leadership have certainly been a rollercoaster of huge ups and downs.  To quote Charles Dickens, it really has been “The best of times and the worst of times”.

Bristol Round Table and The Rotary Club of Clifton, will once again be holding their spectacular firework display at Canford Park in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, raising thousands of pounds for charity and other good causes, with one of the main beneficiaries being the Lord Mayor of Bristol’s Children Appeal, which helps less fortunate families at Christmas.  

Preparations are well underway for this year’s Fireworks Fiesta which will take place on Saturday 7th November commencing at 7.00pm.  Gates will be open from 5.30pm.
 
There will be a range of outlets providing a vast array of hot & cold food & drink throughout the evening and we’ll also have our usual “Glowsticks” stand and mobile sellers within the park, offering a variety of light-up goodies for the little (and big!) kids alike!
 
The display will once again be provided by Skyburst, winners of the 2023 British Fireworks Championships, so it’s certain to be another great event with the display of fireworks wizardry, all choreographed to a great selection of pop music hits, both past and present!
 
Be sure to stick around after the smoke has cleared, as Party Peeps will be doing a post-display Family Foam Party to end the evening!  This has been a huge hit with the crowds in previous years and will undoubtably be hugely popular again this year too!
